BARNAGARD Gelcoat Biofouling Barrier - Jel-Kote™
Two layer anti-biofouling barrier applied at the time of manufacture of the boat hull giving the boat hull intrinsic antifouling resistance.
Gelcoat polyester boat hull layer is applied first as boat hull is manufactured in a mold.
Sequential layers of epoxy and perforated fiberglass are used to build up the hull to the desired thickness.
Once hull is of proper thickness, it is released from the mold.
One or more coats of epoxy water barrier is painted over the ocean side of the gelcoat.
The last epoxy coat is impregnated with BARNAGARD biologically active chemical agents to form the inner polymer layer.
A durable EV polyurethane or fluorourethane layer impregnated with BARNAGARD biologically active chemical agents to form the outer repelling polymer layer.
The epoxy and polyurethane/fluorourethane layers work together to prevent surface damage.
